As a Cornish Maid, this was originally inspired by Mevagissey Harbour. However it ended as a fantasy vision of several harbours. I don't use perspective in the traditional sense. Important images are often larger. I like creating patterns and colour, to create happy uplifting pictures.

Part of an unreal series from the land of dead birds exploring human extinction. The Unreal series are inspired by the bleak landscapes of Western Australia. In this instance the Blackwood River in Nannup. A poet friend who doesn't want to be named sends me photos she thinks would form a perfect backdrop for the land of dead birds. The birds themselves are Frankenstein compositions all framed by Art Nouveau/Lovecraftian inspired frames. The land of deadbirds is part of a wider exploration of war

This image was hand drawn and oil painted on a 12x16 canvas sheet. It is in memory of a baby Squirrel that myself and my teenage daughter raised years ago. We called him Icarus.I was Veterinarian Technician at the time and my daughter actually grew up to be a Veterinarian. Such laughs we had with that baby Squirrel!

My husband Brenton and I took off just before Christmas to the mountains of the Great Dividing Range, following the Snowy River to the ocean. I took a thousand photos, but wanted to paint one of the stunning memory images I bought with me when I returned home. I love to travel with my husband and paint wherever we go.
